Update July 19, 2000

Hello fellow Roller fans! I started training some young birds last week pretty exciting times and some frustrating moments. Seeing as how we haven't done this before things are going better now that the I am being a little more patient, because of my impatience I have lost one bird. The six birds are now trapping a little better I do not have the young birds in a separate kit box they are still in the breeding room. It was a Super Super fabulous thrill to see six young Rollers circling around my back yard and what a relief to see them land on the loft roof for the first time, there are many trees and power lines and poles for them to contend with. The main problem now is that the birds loaf around, on the loft roof for a long time before trapping, I am hoping that with experience and the less food they will trap faster. I am so anxious to see them roll I am sure I will do a back flip when they do, until then take care and Keep them flying !!

Update March 8 ,2002

Long time between updates anyway I've seen a few roll since the last update and yes I almost did do a backflip myself but my only spinner turned out to be a rolldown this truly was a disappointment just imagine my excitement when first seeing this bird turn into a ball of feathers hurling down towards the ground ,then absolute terror as she struck the ground.

I have a kit of young birds developing right now but these were actually late breds and we have had some strange weather this winter so they aren't getting consistent training, but it sure is a blast watching them .Take Care Keep them Flying.
